Zugegeben, es ist eher die leichte Muse, der die Pianistin Heghine Rapyan hier huldigt. Normalerweise wuchtet sie die großen Klopper des Klavierrepertoires, wühlt sich virtuos durch Notenlabyrinthe von Rachmaninoff oder Liszt und widmet sich der Entdeckung der Musik ihrer armenischen Heimat. Hier ist sie mal aus anderer Perspektive zu hören: als Pianistin aber auch als Komponistin.
Untouchable Moments
Rapyan hat acht Songs komponiert, und unter dem Titel „The Untouchable“ auch gleich selbst eingespielt. Das ist Easy Listening at its best. Harmonisch erlebt man hier keine Überraschungen, aber das ist auch so gewollt. Untermalt von eingängigen Rhythmen und ätherischen Streicherklängen zeigt Rapyan hier ein anderes Gesicht: alles klingt sehr idyllisch, harmonisch adrett und ist nett anzuhören. Auch pianistisch gibt es hier keine besonderen Herausforderungen. Es ist die perfekte Musik für den Hintergrund: einfach, eingängig, positiv für sich einnehmend. Was will man mehr?

Admittedly, it is rather the lighter muse to which pianist Heghine Rapyan pays tribute here. Usually, she tackles the grand, demanding works of the piano repertoire, dives virtuously into the labyrinths of Rachmaninoff or Liszt, and is dedicated to discovering the music of her Armenian homeland. Here, she shows herself from a different perspective: as pianist but also as composer.
Untouchable Moments
Rapyan has composed eight songs and released them herself under the title „The Untouchable.“ This is easy listening at its best. Harmonic surprises are absent—which is exactly the intention. Supported by catchy rhythms and ethereal strings, Rapyan displays another facet: everything sounds idyllic, harmoniously proper, and pleasantly listenable. Pianistically, there are no special challenges here. It is the perfect music for the background: simple, catchy, positive, and instantly appealing. What more could one ask?
